Breakfast at Aspen House
We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that's why we take the trouble to get it right. We promise you a breakfast to remember, all done with maximum emphasis on enjoyment and relaxation - the holiday mood thrives in our dining room! As for the food itself, we offer nothing but the best, but this is not an elitist statement. It means that we buy from local small-scale producers who really understand their food. This is not elitist food - it is simply food as it should be, i.e. fresh, traditionally prepared and amazingly tasty. And what we don't buy from our dedicated local producers, we make ourselves.
We collect our eggs from local farms, including organic Whitethorn Farm which also supplies most of the vegetables we use here. Our bacon and sausages come from various artisan producers who deal with rare breed pigs, but our favourite supplier is Gordon Tudge and his dedicated family crew. Rearing Berkshire pigs, they produce dry-cured and smoked bacon that is as good as it gets, and their products are rightly renowned in Herefordshire and beyond for their exceptional quality.
As well as the best organic pasteurised milk we can find, there is a special treat for those who want it - raw unpasteurised milk either from Beaconhill Farm www.beaconicecream.com or other sources. Milk as it used to taste!
